Examples of Intermediate Level Photo Repairs

Below are some of the restorations we have done recently that fall under our Intermediate Service.

Example #8: Repair of small passport photo

A small passport photo is enlarged up to 6"x4" and the resulting enlarged imperfections repaired. Contrast and tonal balance is corrected too.

Example #9: Restore sunlight discolouration

Age and sunlight have discoloured this photograph. This has been corrected and the three spots/stains repaired.

Example #10: Removing pen marks and stains

Not as obvious in this reduced size example but the original photo had been drawn on with blue biro pen. We removed these marks and the other stains / blotches to produce a crisp and clear black and white print.

Example #11: Creased photo repaired and background extended

Another Forties photo in average condition the main damage being caused by creases. These are repaired and the neutral background easily extended to fill the print size requested.

Example #12: Crumpled photo repair

We were asked to do what we could under our Intermediate level as the customer didn't want to spend anymore to restore this photo. We cropped off the main edge damage and repaired the many creases. The top corner was recreated and colour, tone and sharpness enhanced as much as possible in the time allowed.
