More Examples of Basic Photo Repairs

Some more of the photography repairs we have done recently that fall under our Basic Service.

Example #8: Enhance aged B&W Photo

This yellow aged black and white photo was revived and cropped for print size. We refocused this as the original was slightly out of focus which became more noticeable when enlarged.

Example #9: Restore dark photograph with colour cast

We were able to bring out the detail from this old colour photo and lighten the shadows. The aged colour cast was corrected and the honeycomb texture from the original photo paper (not noticeable at this size) was reduced whilst sharpening the remaining detail.

Example #10: Remove biro / pen from photo

A typical Forties photo in reasonable condition, some minor corner damage and one crease are repaired under our Basic Level Restoration. The pen marks on the face are not severe enough to warrant upgrading to Intermediate Level Restoration and our Manipulation Service removes these biro scribbles for a small additional cost.

Example #11: Repairing marks and stains

The marks and stains on this photograph are in low detail areas. Even the large stain across the nose just misses obscuring essential detail meaning our Basic Level Photo Restoration is sufficient to repair this picture.

Example #12: Correcting colour cast

The main subject is almost lost in the original photo. We were able to zoom in and crop to provide a far more pleasing shot. The colour cast was removed and saturation and sharpness enhanced.
