Examples of Advanced Level Photo Restoration

Below are some of the restorations we have done recently that fall under our Advanced Service.

Example #3: Remove ghosting (double exposure)

A problem with the film going through the camera has resulted in a part double exposure and the ghosting from another shot can been seen in the original. We have been able to remove all traces of this and also remove the distracting picture in the top left corner as requested.

Example #4: Restore badly damaged photo

Some large areas of damage, missing corners and several spots, nicks & scratches meant this photo needed a lot of work. The intricate carpet proved tricky but not impossible. Fortunately the focus was very good we were able to enlarge the original 6"x4" photo to an amazing 16"x12" large format print.

Example #5: Repair punched hole damage

An unusually damage photo must have gone through a braille printer or similar by accident to punch the numerous holes seen here. We've managed to repair and reconstruct the missing parts along with enhancing the colour and clarity.

Example #6: Restoration of old collage

This old photo collage done using traditional darkroom techniques has suffered damage from moisture and dirt. We were able to clean this up, redo the sky and also smooth the transitions between the photos for a more pleasing photograph collage.

Example #7: Recreate missing section

Yellow stains are not the only thing spoiling this colour photo - a large chunk is missing from the bottom. Using their artistic skills our photo technicians were able to recreate this missing piece. The yellow staining was removed and the usual enhancements to colour, sharpness and contrast were done. The photo was recomposed to take out some of the uninspiring background.
